Professor Zheng received his Ph.D. in political science and international affairs from University of California, San Diego. He specializes in international political economy with a regional focus on East Asia and China. His dissertation study examined the relationship between political institutions and economic development in authoritarian regimes. His current research interests include foreign direct investment, trade policy, legal system, income inequality in China and other developing countries. He received a postdoctoral fellowship from Princeton-Harvard China in the World Program and is an associate in research at Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University. He teaches courses on International Relations, Globalization, East Asian comparative politics, and Chinese political economy.
