Biography:
Wayne Bragg teaches Cost Analysis for
both the Executive MBA and Part-Time
MBA Programs, and Management Control
for the Executive Education Program.
He is a faculty advisor for the "edgelab" in
Stamford, and facilitator for the Uconn
Family Business Program, where he has
written articles on manufacturing software
selection and Activity Based Costing. Wayne
holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut
and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma,
the National Honor Society for Business
Schools. He was past co-chair for
the UCONN Stamford MBA Program and was
recognized as “outstanding professor” by
the Stamford EMBA Class of 2005.
Prior to joining the University in 2001,
Wayne enjoyed a distinguished career
at United Technologies Corporation spending
over 30 years in numerous leadership
positions, including Controller at Sikorsky
Aircraft. His responsibilities
ranged from coaching senior executives
in financial planning, capital budgeting,
and supply chain management, to leading
several key financial system implementations
and strategic studies. He also developed
and managed factory initiatives that
led to improvements in operational performance
and cost reduction. As a subject
matter expert he wrote a business column
for CONNPOST.com during 2005 and 2006
Wayne’s goal is to ensure that
students possess a strong grasp of accounting
concepts and analytical tools to solve
the problems facing high performing organizations. Coupled
with his corporate experience he provides
a practical context to illustrate how
management makes a broad range of economic
decisions.
