Wayne Bragg teaches Cost Analysis for both the Executive MBA and Part-Time MBA Programs, and Management Control for the Executive Education Program. He is a faculty advisor for the "edgelab" in Stamford, and facilitator for the UConn Family Business Program, where he has written articles on manufacturing software selection, capacity and Activity Based Costing. Wayne holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Honor Society for Business Schools. He was past co-chair for the UCONN Stamford MBA Program. Wayne was recognized as “outstanding professor” by the UConn Hartford EMBA classes of 2008 and 2009.

Prior to joining the University in 2001, Wayne enjoyed a distinguished career at United Technologies Corporation, a Fortune 50 company, spending over 30 years in numerous leadership and executive positions, including Controller at Sikorsky Aircraft. His responsibilities ranged from coaching senior executives in financial planning, capital budgeting, and supply chain management, to leading several key financial system implementations and strategic studies. At Sikorsky he led, developed and project managed several factory initiatives that led directly to improvements in operational performance and cost reduction.  In 2001 he started a private business practice, KWB Consulting, where he is engaged as an “expert witness” in a consumer goods case providing opinion on the use of cost accounting and profitability analysis.  In addition, as a subject matter expert he is a frequent contributor to the business column for ConnPost.com where he wrote a business advice column for several years.

Coupled with his corporate experience, Wayne provides a practical context to illustrate how management effectively makes a broad range of economic decisions that directly effect enterprise performance.  As both an academic and practitioner, his goal is to ensure that students possess a strong grasp of accounting concepts and analytical tools to solve the problems facing today’s high performing organizations.  Using a team and cased based experiential approach he drives students to instantly see the big picture and to develop their ability to simplify and communicate complex business issues.
