Kanda Naknoi joined the Department of Economics at UConn as an Assistant Professor of Economics in August 2012. She has been a Research Associate at the Center for International Price Research at Vanderbilt University. Her research fields are international macroeconomics and economic history. Her current research topics are the impacts of household’s limited participation in equity markets on capital flows, sustainability of US trade deficits, effects of exchange rate fluctuations on exporters’ price setting and international business cycles, and historical developments of international trade. Her research articles have been published in leading economic journals, such as the American Economic Review and the Journal of Monetary Economics. She held a visiting scholar position at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, the International Monetary Fund and the Asian Development Bank Institute. She is a member of the American Economic Association, the Society of Economic Dynamics, and the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession.
