The Certificate in Judaic & Middle Eastern Studies

The Center For Judaic & Middle Eastern Studies at UConn, Stamford offers a Certificate in Judaic & Middle Eastern Studies to students who have completed the Certificate requirements (in designated courses given through English, Hebrew, Sociology, Political Science and other departments). The basic requirements for the Certificate is successful completion of 5 credit courses, in addition to attendance for one year of the Center's Outreach programs. The Certificate track is open to all undergraduate students, of all faiths, as well as to qualified non-degree students.

Who Should Take the Certificate?

Community members and students interested in teaching in religious schools, or who wish to prepare for advanced training in Religious Studies, Judaic Scholarship, Jewish communal work, Middle East and Israel Studies, or for professional careers in government and foreign service which require knowledge of Israel and the Middle East. It is also of interest to educators in church-based schools.
